disruptive video links for January 30, 2007

  • different ways the MPAA has fought the piracy of Oscar screeners, a slight hint that screener stingyness might hurt your Oscar chances, and how long it takes for a screener to reach the underground

i like keeping track of the different ways people's work, especially music and writing and movies and t.v., can be shared, bought, sold, and organized. i definitely think all the intense changes that are happening with this stuff, are a good thing. especially for artists.

i'm aware of how some of these changes are being resisted, especially by mainstream media conglomerates. sometimes these dudes scare me, because in their fear and confusion, they hurt people. they don't mean to, but whatever. i'm watching them.
